Supervision
I have been a qualified supervisor for 10 years and have supported many student and qualified counsellors both as
private supervisees and also as counsellors within a counselling agency in a college. I worked as a counselling
tutor for several years and as an agency manager, and am very aware of the challenges student counsellors face
and the importance of the supervision relationship. I have also supported experienced counsellors through the
process of BACP accreditation.
I believe supervision should be supportive, stimulating and restorative, where you have a safe space to openly explore
all elements of your client work and professional development and feel valued and held as well as challenged.
As a supervisor, I work with the 7-eyed process model conceived by Hawkins and Shohet as this places high importance
on the relationships in the counselling & supervision process. I offer a space for counsellors to engage with open
exploration and curiosity of all elements of their client work. My own training is Integrative, based on humanistic
principles. I am informed by and work with elements of TA, gestalt, existential and psychodynamic theory.
It is important for you to find the right supervisor, and I therefore offer a free initial session for you to come and
meet me before deciding if you would like to have ongoing supervision.
The cost for supervision is:
Qualified counsellors - £50 per hour.
Student counsellors - £40 per hour.
