Supervision

I have been a qualified supervisor for almost 10 years and have supported many student and qualified counsellors both as private supervisees and also as counsellors within a counselling agency in a college. I worked as a counselling tutor for several years and as an agency manager, and am very aware of the challenges student counsellors face and the importance of the supervision relationship. I have also supported experienced counsellors through the process of BACP accreditation.

I believe supervision should be supportive, stimulating and restorative, where you have a safe space to openly explore all elements of your client work and professional development and feel valued and held as well as challenged.

As a supervisor, I work with the 7-eyed process model conceived by Hawkins and Shohet as this places high importance on the relationships in the counselling & supervision process. I offer a space for counsellors to engage with open exploration and curiosity of all elements of their client work. My own training is Integrative, based on humanistic principles. I am informed by and work with elements of TA, gestalt, existential and psychodynamic theory.

It is important for you to find the right supervisor, and I therefore offer an initial 40 minute session for 25 so that you can come and meet me before deciding if you would like to have ongoing supervision.

The cost for supervision is:
Qualified counsellors - 45 per hour.
Student counsellors - 35 per hour.
